Ian plans to shoot for the stars in his career & life so we went big with his Senior photos! We took a little road trip from Boise up to Stanley, Idaho. This is one of our favorite Senior Destination Session locations! Stanley, Idaho is beautiful and has so many roadside locations for epic senior portraits. One of the first stops along the way was in the canyon alongside the river. This spot was perfect for the rugged Idaho senior guy vibe that Ian was looking for.
As we continued our to drive towards our final destination of Stanley we spotted this unique burnout off the side of the road. The trees had been scorched and were leaning on each other. We took full advantage of this change in the forest to take some truly unique pictures. One of the highlights of going to Stanley for a destination session is when you are about 20 minutes to town there is a viewpoint where you can see the Sawtooth Mountains but they are not the only thing you can see. This spot makes the trip worth the drive alone; there is so much more to come! When we stopped at this viewpoint Ian pulled out his guitar.

Ian enjoyed the sun setting behind the Sawtooth Mountains and a fantastic slice of pizza in downtown Stanely. It seems to be a tradition now that when we take a senior destination session to Stanely Idaho, we have to eat dinner at Papa Brunees! The highlight of Ian’s senior session however was the night skies! This is one of the main reasons that we travel to Stanley, Idaho. Stanley happens to be a fantastic location to view the Milky Way! Stanley is within the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve which allows us to stay late into the cold evening to capture a backdrop worthy of this aspiring astrophysicist.
Ian, you are such an amazing and eccentric person! We had a delight learning about your many talents and passions. We are certain that you will change the world one day!
